"From Inspiration to Action: Taking the First Steps in My New Project"

The first time I made a piece with plant material I used physalis. The outcome was reasonable.

Physalis, Cape Gooseberry. With this piece I was experimenting with clay slip, (runny mud) and paper clay.

But is wasn't till lockdown that I began to develop and experiment with different clay slips, clays and glazes. Various methods of coating the botanicals, painting it on, dipping and finally spraying.
